Jeff Maggard's DAT Deck reliability survey and Microphone FAQ. Mike Wagner maintains a Bands That Allow Taping list that is being updated fairly often. If that site is down, you can resort to the April 1999 list of bands that allow taping posting by Kurt Kemp. A mod for some DAT decks which allows recording of SCMS-protected streams.

Here is some contributed code for doing labels for DAT j-cards. Various files related to the Digital Signal Dissector. This information is mostly of historical interest at this point; I know of no place where one can actually get one of these anymore. SPD/IF information from ePanorama.net.
